Veterinary Surgery
At Coffee Memorial Animal Clinic, we understand that having a pet in need of a surgical procedure — whether routine or unexpected — can be extremely stressful for both pets and their humans. To put your mind at ease, we strive to provide the safest pet surgeries possible, always performing surgery in a sterile environment, with state-of-the-art equipment and high-quality medications. Our veterinary surgeons are experienced and always recommend using the least invasive surgical procedures available.
Post-Surgical Care In Our Office And At Home
Caring for your pet following surgery will depend on your pet’s health and the extent of the procedure. We might require some pets to stay the night in our hospital, so we can monitor their recovery and provide the medical attention necessary following surgery. Other pets, having routine surgeries, will be able to return home shortly after their procedures on the same day.
When it’s time for your pet to go home, we’ll provide you with instructions for caring for your pet properly in order to accelerate his or her post-surgical recovery. These instructions might include the administration of pain medications, caring for incision sites, a “cone of shame,” and keeping your pet from being overly active. At the time of your pet’s discharge, we might also schedule a follow-up or cold laser therapy appointment.
